Longstanding council member Janice Fielding recognised with CII Distinguished Service Medal

Janice was the first PFS member to join our Council. For the past eight years, she has organised a series of PFS educational events for Leicester Institute. Prior to that, there weren’t any in Leicester. We now have a recognised PFS profile. Janice has also performed a similar role on a regional basis for the PFS.

Our PFS membership has significantly increased (far exceeding the increase in GI membership), as Janice has encouraged local individuals and organisations in the profession to engage with us. She has worked tirelessly on this, including visiting local organisations to explain what we do, and the benefits of being involved.

Janice is perfectly placed to organise our educational events. She is a Fellow of both CII and PFS; the only one of our 1,500 members to have achieved that.

During her year as our President in 2010/11, Janice helped raise £1,700 for Diabetes UK and £400 for Insurance Charities. She is still active supporting our charities.

The medal was presented to her by CII President Jonathan Clark.
