W W Group Retain Five-a-Side Soccer Title ... Again!

10 teams took part – fewer than in 2016 – partly due to a clash with Easter school holidays, and partly affected by some regulars flying out to Madrid for the Leicester City Champions League fixture!

The tournament featured a Group stage comprising 2 groups of 5 teams, each playing 4 matches. The standard of soccer was very high and the matches were played under a clear blue sky. Some excellent goals and several brilliant saves provided outstanding entertainment.

The top two teams in each group went through to the Semi-Finals.

“WW G-Unit” (WW Group) beat “AXA-PPP” 3-0 and “Borussia Teeth” (BHIB) beat “Athletico J Gallagher” (AJG) on penalties (after a 1-1 draw).

The final was initially a hard fought affair but once “WW G-Unit” took the lead they remained on top and eventually completed a 3-0 victory. WW Group have now won the coveted shield 3 years in a row.
