Annual general knowledge quiz results - Larsen Howie claim Champion's Shield in close finale

The Quiz has become something of an institution in the Social calendar and it was supported this year by a cross-section of 16 different companies from both the General Insurance and Financial Planning sectors.

There was a Picture Board and a challenging “Pointless” Round, together with traditional rounds on Geography and Places, History and People, Sport and Leisure, Food and Drink and Music and Entertainment.

The battle for the coveted Quiz Champions Shield was a hard fought affair and, going into the final round, which was on News and Current Affairs, there were joint leaders and several contenders in close pursuit.

In the end the Runners-Up were “The Malcontents” from Berkeley Burke with a total of 118.5 points, but whose performance was highlighted by their achievement of delivering the highest Round score of the night on their ‘Joker’ Round, and by scoring a maximum 25 points on the ‘Pointless’ Round.

But, the winners, and new Champions were “Quiz Eubank” from Larsen Howie who finished with 120.5 points, having delivered consistently good scores on all the rounds.

The Wooden Spoons went to………. – well, you’ll just have to check social media to find that out!

The event raised over £120 for Insurance Charities.
