Awards Evening 2016 Report
The Guest Speaker was Martin Wells, Head of Operations at the Personal Finance Society, who gave a motivational presentation using his recent mountaineering experience in South America.
The following awards were presented by Institute President, Pete Willcocks:
- A National Prize from the Worshipful Company of Insurers for Excellence in completing the Diploma (Dip CII) went to Sam Spare from PF Spare Insurance Brokers (£500 plus framed certificate)
- A local institute award for the Best Performance in completing the Certificate (Cert CII) went to Nicolle Bradbury from Policywise (£100 plus framed certificate)
- A local institute award for the Best Performance in completing the Certificate (Cert CII FS) went to Sapna Nandini from Chesterton House (£100 plus framed certificate)
- A local institute award for the Best Performance in completing the Diploma (Dip PFS) went to Tom Senogles from Efficient Portfolio (£100 plus framed certificate)
- A local institute award for the Best Performance in completing the Advanced Diploma (ACII) went to Rowanne Dicker from Willis UK (£150 plus framed certificate and possession of the Papworth Plate)
- A local institute award for the Best Performance in completing the Advanced Diploma (APFS) went to Sheilen Savjani from Sovereign Wealth (£150 plus framed certificate)
- Local institute awards for achieving Fellowship status were presented to Sheilen Savjani from Sovereign Wealth and Dale Wadsworth from Hornbuckle Mitchell (£150 plus framed certificate and shared possession of the Mellor Plate)
Two others reached Fellowship status (Bryan Duchart from FD Financial Advisers and Gary Smithies from Russell Ulyatt Financial Services). They were unable to attend and their prizes have been sent to them.
Lois Blackmore from Arthur J Gallagher won the prize for the Best Performance in completing the Diploma (Dip CII). She was also unable to attend but will have her prize (£100, framed certificate and possession of the Mowatt Plate) presented to her at a Lunch Time Seminar in December.
We also announced the winner and runner-up of our Young Achiever of the Year Award, sponsored by Aspects Insurance Recruitment.
The runner-up was Phil Michou from Cooper Parry. As he was abroad, Jenna Michou accepted his prize (£50) on his behalf. It was presented by Aspects Insurance Recruitment Director, Allison Marshall.
The winner was Oliver Deakin from The Innovation Group. He was also abroad but will have his prize (£250 and a silver salver), presented to him at his workplace later this month.
