Article 75: its effect on Motor Claims and Cover
This session will cover a brief introduction to Article 75. It will explain what it is, common routes to Article 75 Status, and how it works. It will also look at what it means for Insurers, and Article 75’s relevance to the Motor Insurance Database.

Learning objectives
By the end of this session, delegates will be able to identify;
- the hierarchy of insurer involvements as Contractual Insurer, Road Traffic Act Insurer, Article 75 Insurer and no insurer involvement.
- when and how the different statuses apply.
- the main differences between being the RTA Insurer and the Article 75 Insurer.
- the need for good MID housekeeping.
- basic understanding of the role of MIB's Technical Committee in determining Article 75 status.
Speaker biography
Bob Dawson has over 25 year's industry experience in Technical Claims roles. Currently he is a Technical Claims Manager at Allianz where his responsibilities include managing a small caseload of Catastrophic Injury files, providing technical support to the Claims Centres, leading and developing Claims Handling Strategies and engaging and participating in market forums. Bob is also a member of MIB's Technical Committee.
