Introduction to meditation

Join us for the next instalment in our Wellbeing programme – an early morning meditation session in association with Chris Hunt from i-nurture Wellness.

Meditation is booming, boosted by scientific studies and mainstream acceptance including the NHS. It is not spiritual or religious; it is a simple but very effective technique to help deal with many of the issues that we face every day, not least those caused by remote working and isolation. Meditation can help deal with stress and anxiety, improve concentration and attention span, and generally promote emotional wellbeing.

This class will explain exactly what meditation is by incorporating some background information and facts, teach you how to meditate effectively and lead into some actual meditations.

This class is suitable for everyone, whether you have meditated before or not. It is an ideal way to help start your day with a clear and focused mind. You will not need any equipment, just a quiet place to sit or lie down where (ideally!) you won't be interrupted.

If you have any questions about this session, please email Chris –

  • More than 700,000 of those supplies went to children
  • During the first two months of lockdown, Barking Foodbank provided more than 8,300 meals to people in need
