YMC webinar: What is actuarial, actually? An actuarial 101 for non-actuaries
This Insurance Institute of London YMC CPD webinar, delivered by Nadeen Griffiths and Matthew Pearlman, is aimed at demystifying the world of actuaries for non-actuaries.
The session is designed to provide underwriters and brokers with a clear and accessible introduction to actuarial concepts, tools, and terminology, as well as provide some practical tips to foster effective collaboration and understanding between actuarial teams and other departments in the business.
This event is hosted in conjunction with LCP, an award-winning actuarial consultancy, providing advice on insurance, investment, pensions, energy and employee benefits.
Learning objectives:
- Understanding Key Areas of Actuarial Work: gain insights into the fundamental aspects of actuarial roles, including pricing, reserving, and capital modelling, helping to better understand how these areas contribute to business decisions
- Familiarity with Key Terminology: The session offers a high-level overview of common actuarial terminology, enabling underwriters and brokers to communicate more effectively with actuaries and grasp the context of actuarial discussions
