1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Dan Ross, Underwriter - Blockchain, Crypto & web3, Superscript
  • YMC event

In this IIL YMC webinar, Dan Ross from Superscript's Digital Asset team will introduce Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), how they're being used and what the technology means for insurers.

Understanding new technologies and how they impact the world has become a growing necessity for all insurance professionals, but some technologies are more accessible than others

Blockchain, cryptocurrencies and NFTs have made mainstream news since 2017 but an initially steep learning curve puts many off exploring one of the most exciting developments in technology and finance.

Dan will start by laying out the landscape of a blockchain-powered internet, referred to as web3, and how it will fundamentally change your personal interaction with data. The session will then look at the history of Non-Fungible Tokens, their future, and why jpegs of monkeys cost as much as a house.

Learning objectives:

  • Introduction to NFT technologies
  • How NFTs are being used and what that means for the audience
  • What NFTs and other blockchain technologies mean for insurers
