Women in finance - How can we improve gender diversity in the workplace?
In this IIL financial planning webinar, Emma Hall dives into actionable strategies to attract, support, and retain more women in financial planning (and other traditionally male-dominated fields), while also exploring ways to better serve female clients.
Studies show that having women within businesses, and particularly in leading positions, has many benefits. McKinsey research shows that gender-diverse companies are 15% more likely to achieve above-average financial results. Whilst awareness of the benefits of gender diversity has increased, the pace of change in the makeup of financial planners and senior roles is slow. At present only 16% of financial advisers in the UK are women.
In this session, the speaker explores effective methods for fostering an inclusive workplace culture that promotes well-being, career growth, and diversity.
Learning objectives:
- Develop an understanding of the various factors that influence gender diversity in recruitment, promotions, client-facing roles, and serving female clients
- Explore strategies to attract more women into financial planning and other traditionally male-dominated fields
- Implementing strategies that create a positive, health-focused workplace culture
