Introduction to subsea production systems
In this IIL marine and energy webinar, Thomas Hunt introduces subsea production systems, covering the interlinking components, claim examples and the issues operators face in undertaking repairs in offshore environments.
Subsea production systems are key to the production of oil and gas from offshore fields. As the technology has evolved it has allowed operators to produce from deeper waters, further from shore in more remote and extreme environments.
What are the common pieces of equipment that make up a subsea production system? How are these components damaged? What are the common drivers of claim costs in offshore environments and how have they been impacted as SPS technology has evolved? This presentation considers these questions and the risks associated with these subsea production systems.
Learning objectives:
- What are subsea production systems?
- What is the impact of technology on SPS?
- What are the issues on repairs faced by operators?
