How to make the UK the world's leading international financial centre in five years
In this IIL London Market webinar, Miles Celic provides an overview of the industry’s new international strategy - developed by TheCityUK in partnership with the City of London Corporation, industry Trade Associations and many of the UK’s leading financial and professional services businesses - which outlines the policy and regulatory approaches that the UK should adopt to become the world's leading international financial centre within five years and explains how the UK can position itself to take advantage of several global trends.
TheCityUK is the representative body of the UK-based financial and related professional services industry.
This presentation of the industry international strategy opens with an analysis of the UK’s current position as an International Financial Centre and some of the key global trends facing UK-based financial and professional services businesses. It sets out different trajectories for the UK’s financial centre.
The webinar goes on to explain how the industry, government and regulators can work together to make the UK the world’s leading International Financial Centre within five years by focussing on promoting the international competitiveness of the UK and acting to secure the UK’s current financial centre, grow UK industry access to overseas markets and build new market capabilities in key areas of future demand, such as technology, sustainable finance, international investment and risk management.
