Learning from leadership dilemmas
In this IIL financial services webinar, Rebecca Aston provides an up to date overview of the state of ethics and trust in financial services, with a particular emphasis on the ethical dilemmas faced by leaders, and how we can learn from them.
Leaders 'set the tone from the top' and provide the blueprint as to how employees are expected to conduct themselves, solve problems, interact with others, and represent the organisation.
Although we all face ethical dilemmas, leaders face some unique challenges. The dilemmas they face are often more complex and carry more risk. In addition to resolving these issues to everyone’s satisfaction, they are expected to communicate what happened and any lessons learned to lead the way on what others should do if faced with a similar circumstance. They hold more accountability and are sometimes responsible for the actions of others as well as their own.
For these reasons and many more, learning from leadership dilemmas is essential for those who are already leaders and for those who hope to become leaders in their careers.
