Online event
Thursday, 25 March 2021
1:30 pm – 2:30 pm (UK time)
    • Mark Searle, Global Director, Safety, International Air Transport Association (IATA)
  • Aviation & Space

In this IIL aviation webinar, Mark Searle looked at the management of change in aviation during the COVID-19 pandemic and how the International Air Transport Association (IATA) is focused in supporting industry through a coherent safety strategy aimed to deliver on a continued reduction in the aviation all-accident rate.

The COVID-19 pandemic has required aviation to adapt rapidly, in a way few have seen before, to an ever-changing landscape. The management of change is critical to assessing, and managing, potential safety risks and is where IATA have introduced a number of tools to capture, and collate, hazards and risks resulting from COVID-19 to support industry in their efforts to maintain safe operations.

This webinar focussed on specific issues where IATA has supported industry since the start of the crisis and how they are positioning themselves to support industry in the restart. Also, with safety as the number 1 priority of IATA, Mark shared the efforts of the Association, in the new IATA safety strategy, to continually focus on the reduction of the all-accident rate.

By the end of this webinar members would have gained an insight into:

  • The criticality of effective change management
  • Effective safety risk management
  • The role of IATA in supporting a safe aviation system
