Future cyber risks and threats
In this IIL cyber, technology and innovation webinar, Mark Ward acted as a tour guide to the many cyber and technology-based threats that will trouble organisations over the next three years and looked at developments in AI (artificial intelligence), digital identity, renewable energy and many other topics.
The pandemic has re-made the world in many ways and has given rise to a host of novel technological threats that will plague organisations in the near future.
Drawing on 30 years of research, this presentation looked at the rapidly approaching threat horizon and drew out key trends to identify the particular dangers most likely to emerge by 2023. Example threats include:
- AI-based malware that can learn the best way to penetrate and de-fraud organisations
- Digital doppelgangers that take identity theft to a new level
- Bot-based attacks that pummel websites seeking supplies that scammers can re-sell
Real-world examples were used to anchor the predictions in trends, developments and attack patterns seen today.
By the end of this webinar members would have gained an insight into:
- The growing sophistication of organised cyber-criminal gangs
- Greater knowledge about developments in digital ID
- A grasp of global regulatory changes affecting information security
