Virtual hearings in the new Covid world: are they succeeding or failing?
In this IIL webinar, Tom Walters and Henry Clack discussed their experience of virtual hearings in the context of both the High Court and arbitrations during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Covid-19 pandemic gave rise to a number of restrictions which meant that in-person hearings in both the High Court and arbitrations could only take place on a very limited basis.
The legal industry showed that it was capable of quickly adapting to these restrictions and a number of hearings, ranging from brief interlocutory hearings to multi-week trials, took place over platforms like Zoom and Teams.
HFW have been involved in a number of these hearings and during this webinar, the speakers shared the lessons that they learned from their experiences.
By the end of this webinar members would have gained an insight into:
- The key issues arising out of virtual hearings
- Whether virtual hearings are here to stay
