Wednesday, 15 July 2020
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Boyd Zapatka CEEM, Manager, Consulting and Client Services, AIR Worldwide

In this IIL webinar, Boyd Zapatka provided an introduction to a Catastrophe Modelling framework and the role of cat models in the (re)insurance marketplace.

Catastrophe models calculate important metrics used in the evaluation of risk and are of particular relevance in today’s world of pandemics, tropical cyclones, earthquakes, and a changing climate. During this session, you learned the fundamentals of modelling, including stochastic catalogue generation, damage estimation, and insured loss calculation.

By the end of this webinar members would have gained an insight into:

  • What are the main elements of a catastrophe model?
  • What questions do catastrophe models try to answer?
  • How catastrophe modelling can benefit you
