Emotional intelligence in the age of AI
In this IIL webinar, Jay Unwin explores the growing importance of emotional intelligence in a workplace increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence, focusing on developing uniquely human skills that complement AI capabilities.
Emotional intelligence is the ability to manage both your own emotions and understand the emotions of people around you. It involves key elements: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills - qualities that are inherently human. These skills are critical in areas requiring complex decision-making and interpersonal interactions. In contrast, AI looks at processing vast amounts of data and automating tasks, which is transforming industries with more efficiency and precision. However, AI lacks emotional awareness and the ability to understand context in the same way humans do. In this session, attendees can learn how to balance these technologies with human emotional intelligence for better leadership and teamwork.
Learning objectives:
- Understand the role of emotional intelligence in the AI-driven workplace
- Identify key components of emotional intelligence
- Learn techniques for enhancing empathy and social skills
- Develop strategies for leveraging emotional intelligence in leadership and teamwork
