The day the sky caught fire and other energy losses
In this IIL marine & energy lecture Robert Glynn ACII analysed some of the world's largest onshore energy losses since 1974 and the lessons that today's insurers can learn from these accidents.
Robert commenced his lecture with a film that was made after the LPG storage explosions in Mexico City in 1984, and his presentation discussed this loss and other major onshore energy related losses from 1974 through to the present day.

Speaker Bio:
Robert has spent more than 35 years providing onshore risk management and insurance advice to energy, powers and mining companies throughout the world. He has lectured extensively within the insurance, legal and energy communities, written many papers and co-authored CII ASG textbooks and IMIA technical papers.

CPD events are open to CII and PFS members
Registration closes at 12pm two working days before the event date
For events held in The Old Library, Lloyd's pass holders may also attend and do not need to register
Original Photo ID (Driving Licence, Passport, Work ID with company logo and full name) is required to gain entry to all venues
Conditions:
- Email confirmations and original photo ID must be produced to security staff at the lecture venue
- Attendance confirmations are non-transferable to any other person or lecture
- All venues have limited capacity and registration and/or a Lloyd's pass does not guarantee admission
