In this IIL marine & energy lecture Mark Tetley, MD, Marine, Energy & Natural Resources International, Price Forbes, provided an introduction to the insurance of nuclear risks.
He explained that the aim of his lecture was to cover:
- Why a specialist market exist for nuclear risks (history, statutory obligations, radioactive contamination exclusion, loss history)
- The risks and business covered by the nuclear insurance market (risks and profile, cover offered, underwriting process)
- The current status of the nuclear insurance market (hot topics, who's who in the market)
- A glimpse into the future of nuclear insurance (industry developments, climate post Fukishima and demands on insurers)
By the end of this lecture members would have gained an insight into:
- A high level view of how the nuclear insurance arrangements work
- The major issues facing the nuclear insurance market

Mark Tetley is Managing Director of the Marine Energy & Natural Resources Team at Price Forbes; his remit includes nuclear.

CPD events are open to CII and PFS members
Registration closes at 12pm two working days before the event date
For events held in The Old Library, Lloyd's pass holders may also attend and do not need to register
Original Photo ID (Driving Licence, Passport, Work ID with company logo and full name) is required to gain entry to all venues

- Email confirmations and original photo ID must be produced to security staff at the lecture venue
- Attendance confirmations are non-transferable to any other person or lecture
