The Insurance Charity
THE INSURANCE CHARITY: Supporting insurance people when they need us most
Life can be challenging for many people, and those working in insurance are no exception. The Insurance Charity offers financial support and practical guidance to current and former insurance professionals in the UK and Ireland.
Last year The Insurance Charity awarded over £1.4 million to support those in the industry facing challenging circumstances. You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out to the Charity, there are many ways it can help.
All those who have worked in the insurance industry can apply, regardless of their role or length of service. People don’t need to be a member of an insurance-related body or association, and both working and non-working people can make an application. The Insurance Charity can also support the dependants of eligible insurance people such as partners and children.
One-off payments
If you need one-off financial support, The Insurance Charity could help you with the cost of things such as:
- Care
- Counselling
- Specialist equipment such as wheelchairs and mobility aids
- Funeral expenses
- Essential furniture and household appliances
- Property adaptations and repairs
- School uniforms
Ongoing payments
The Charity could provide regular financial support when something unexpected has happened. Perhaps you've experienced the loss of a loved one, a relationship breakdown, domestic abuse, or redundancy. As a result, you may now be struggling with day-to-day essential costs such as food, rent/mortgage, energy bills or travel.
Practical guidance
The Insurance Charity doesn’t just offer financial support. It can provide practical guidance too, which could include signposting you to other organisations such as specialist charities, or helping you improve your money management.
