PRESIDENT'S MARCH MESSAGE FROM THE IIC&G
As we move towards well deserved changes in our working and home life, schools and colleges re-opening and more taste of normality, here is where the IIC&G are as we head towards the end of another council year.
CPD..We are finishing our CPD year with a bang and 3 events in one week starting Tuesday 9th March with events also on Wednesday 10th and Friday 12th
Most definitely something for everyone. Over 220 bookings so far but always more room available. Here is the link to all of them but be quick! You will also see the Education Team are booking for May as well. Great work team https://cms.localinstitutes.cii.co.uk/cheltenham-gloucester/home/events/forthcoming-events/
CHARITY… Your March Virtual 10k event is going really well. Thankyou for your support.
Pictures of the 10k walks and runs are coming in and can be seen on the socials as can your medals. Nearly £400 raised and special mention and thanks to my broker friend Peter Bellis.
Peter loves his CPD and Welsh Rugby so he is enjoying life as ever at the moment. He generously has donated a significant sum to this appeal and the Cheltenham Animal Shelter as he enjoys those morning walks around the Cote d’ Churchdown. If you would like to register and find out about Matt’s story and what the Vale Stroke Recovery Unit do please go to https://cms.localinstitutes.cii.co.uk/cheltenham-gloucester/home/events/2021/virtual-10k-fundraiser-throughout-march-for-the-friends-of-vale-community-hospital/
SOCIAL…Quiz alert and not in a virtual pub thanks goodness, we will back at real deal. We aim to be back late September as we ease back into our social shoes with this and other options for you all…
EXAMS…continued well done to all of our members who continue to study and take exams against this difficult backdrop and are having to travel to Bristol to do exams. We will be celebrating our members results later in October at a specific event but I wanted to highlight one of our members now to you.
After two and a half years and 17 exams Kristian Manton at Attivo Group has become the youngest person ever to achieve Fellowship status with the PFS at the age of 21. Many congratulations Kristian and well done on your dedication and outstanding achievement.
AGM…This week a formal notice will be issued announcing our 2021 AGM. It will be on Wednesday 28th April at 6pm on Microsoft Teams. If playing a more pro-active part in shaping members careers, education and charitable thinking is something you would like to be involved more please do come forward.
Next month will be my final month after 2 years as IIC&G President so I will use the April message to reflect and look forward but most importantly to thankyou those who have contributed to some amazing successes and memories. It’s definitely been a term of 2 halves.
Talking of which, as I write this its 3pm Saturday so off to watch the Gloucester game. What could possibly go wrong...?
Enjoy the rest of the month as we head towards the Easter holiday.
Best wishes
Simon
