PRESIDENT'S AUGUST MESSAGE
Am just using this as a round up of recent activity and a bit of a look forward so here goes...
4 more CPD events delivered in July to 300 members. Since the start of lockdown,IICG has delivered 18 webinars across 18 weeks. We think we have got the number and content just about right around Covid19 and our mainstream technical and self-development programme. We are having August off from webinars as hopefully members find a bit of sun and space. We will be back with a full webinar CPD programme from September to December and let's see what happens after that. Thankyou to all of our members who attended and of course our trainers
IICG has now formally postponed our 2020 dinner in October. It is the right thing to do. Thankyou to Manor by the Lake for continued support.
All attention now turns to the 2021 Dinner on Friday 23rd April.
Our Dinner Secretary Nicola Hunt will be contacting sponsors, tableholders and ticket holders with details. Refunds are available if needed now.
Thankyou for your patience too. We hope the new date is good for you to join us.
Our achiever award is normally held at the annual dinner.
In view of the high standard of nominations and the effort put in by those employers making the nominations, we felt it was absolutely right to recognise and reward in 2020 rather than delay further.
Our judging panel will begin the task of coming up with the final 4 and we will let you know who these members are and the next steps in mid September.
Thankyou and well done to all the nominated members.
IICG is bringing your annual quiz by the power of ZOOM! On Thursday 24th September we hope members will join us hosted by one of your Deputy Presidents, Tim Chandler.
Entries will be via online registrations and a link will soon be ready. First come first serve and we are aiming for 50 individual registrations and could go higher...A voluntary charitable donation of £2 can be made. So get swotting and see you there. A small prize will be available for winner and runner up but it is the taking part....
We thought you might like to be aware of some of the PFS training being rolled out centrally with the help of various product providers. We think this compliments our own programme but we always would like to hear more from our PFS friends

I would like to congratulate Zoe Davis who is one of your Deputy President's and also acts as New Gen mentor and is the Charity Officer. Zoe has been nominated in the 2020 Women in Insurance Awards in the prestigious Young Woman of the Year award (large company) and very best wishes for the next stage.
Finally charity news. 118 miles for McGill in July so not bad and this practice will be tested on 5th September as myself, Zoe, Chelsea, Toby, Kamila and Zofia are doing the Cheltenham 3 Peaks challenge across 22 rolling miles of Crickley,Leckhampton and Cleeve. You can donate via our just giving page for CAS as follows https://www.justgiving.com/teams/iicgnewgen
The online pet picture competition has worked well with £60 in donations so you have 2 more weeks to enter and keep liking the entries to vote on our social media platforms. Otto the Dog is winning so far...
Over and out for another month. Best wishes
Simon McGill
