NOVEMBER IIC&G PRESIDENT MESSAGE

Firstly though I need to confirm that when it is my time to hand over the Presidency,I won't be barricading myself in 51 Brookfield Rd with my medal and demanding a recount...

Our CPD offerings are proving really popular and some really challenging subjects. In November,Fraud Psychology, Cyber Security and The Pandemic Insurance Solution are all fully booked and we have the Bank Of England deliverying a state of the economy address in December. Please do book early for our events.

I want to touch on Exams and Charity now. These areas always provoke a reaction.

You might have seen the CII message offering sincere apologies for delays this year in the exam process. It is a message we pushed for and welcome some of the concessions on offer.

CII are keeping their current exam centres open as this is classed as an essential service and will not be affected by the new lockdown restrictions taking place this month. There is still no exam centre in our region and we will not stop pushing until this is put right.

This time of year we focus on our Charity commitment and helping others.

During November we are supporting Gloucester Foodbank and are pleased to do so. Circumstances mean we can't organise collections so we are asking for a BACS donation please and we will then do a "Big Shop". The poster will be with you on Monday. Thankyou in advance.

December/January we will then focus on Cheltenham Animal Shelter for help with donations and will be running an online Christmas competition...more of that soon

On 26th October I enjoyed Allen Prior's company for another 10 hours as we walked 42km for Motor Neurone Disease. Thankyou if you were able to help. The day has raised £1550 so far.

After a couple of runs this morning,I have now broken through the 2000 miles for 2000 members which was my original target from April 2019. Thankyou for all the encouragement and company. So lots on and if that was not enough on Tuesday 17th November we will be hosting the IICG Achiever of the Year presentation (online) Congratulations again to Ashley,Chelsea,Gemma and Samuel for being this year's Final 4 and good luck on the night.
