Economic Secretary to the Treasury John Glen MP was the principal speaker at the President's Mansion House Lunch, together with the Lord Mayor Locum Tenens, Alderman Sir David Wootten.

They discussed:

  • Insurance successes of 2018 e.g. Civil Liability Act, Insurance Linked Securities, Trade Agreements, Insurtech and Innovation
  • Financial conduct and stability
  • The opportunities and challenges of 2019

This exclusive event took place in the exquisite surroundings of the Egyptian Hall at Mansion House. Guests were greeted by the President, Nicolas Aubert (Head of GB, Willis Towers Watson) from 12pm and enjoyed a sparkling wine reception before dining on a three course lunch and listening to speeches from the President, Lord Mayor Locum Tenens and Principal Speaker.

Part of the proceeds from this event were donated to the Lord Mayor's Appeal and the remainder applied to furthering the work of the Insurance Institute of London.

Speaker Bio:

John Glen was appointed Economic Secretary to the Treasury and City Minister in January 2018. Before that, he was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and Parliamentary Private Secretary to Philip Hammond. He was first elected as the MP for Salisbury in 2010.
