The Professional Map: the new CII competency framework

Online event
Tuesday, 07 December 2021
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Vanessa Riboloni, Insight Manager, Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)

In this IIL webinar, Vanessa Riboloni introduces the CII’s Professional Map: its central role in shaping future learning, qualifications and membership at the CII and how employers and practitioners use it to their benefit and contribute to its development.

The Professional Map is a market-led competency framework for the insurance and personal finance professions, that details the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to grow and excel in an evolving market. It provides a sector-wide language, aligned with ethical and regulatory standards, against which the CII will develop new qualification, membership and learning pathways.

This session supports firms in driving a culture of professionalism (understood as the right mix of knowledge, skills and behaviours), helping to demonstrate to the regulator a commitment to people development as well as ensuring the right capabilities are in place at all levels and across all functions. Also, this talk aims to empower individuals to be the best professional they can be, providing them with transparency around the competencies they need to add value and make an impact at each stage of their careers and plan their future development.

Still under development with the view of officially launching in Q1 2022, this is a great opportunity not only to preview the work so far but to also contribute your thoughts.
